5 Tactics Real Affiliate Marketer Must Use to Succeed

For the last past days, months, years affiliate marketing has become very popular. Nowadays there are many of online business plans one can implement. But, affiliate marketing really stands out among all of them because it does not require lots of investment.

A well experienced affiliate marketer can make thousands of dollars a month. Due to this condition here, online, appeared other programs that can boost his or her commission each and every month. So, what does in fact affiliate marketer must know and must have to succeed and to grow his or her business from day to day?

To have answers to all this question in affiliate marketing is like to have a "golden case".

Here are five steps which will assist you in your affiliate program. This steps will show you how to succeed from day to day with less and less effort and investment.

1. Compensation from each sale.

You should now how much you will get from each sale. This is very important. No one would like to spent more time and get less for it. There is always a chance that you can waste more of your time on promoting then on selling products. Hence, you should stick to the market with high commission paying rate and with a many products in it.

2. Website traffic.

Always try to find out previous traffic of website. If it is between first 100.000 top websites, that means that that product is having a good traffic rate, and it can also means that it is already having many affiliates . If this website placed under 500.000 top websites, it can have less traffic, hence less affiliates promoting it.

What you really need to do to find out weather this or that product is good for promoting is to test.

The best way is to buy it yourself and to test it. After you will make sure that the product is worth promoting ask for money back and start selling it. There is also another tactic, try to do online research on certain product, read people reviews, find out what other people think about the product. But remember people are different, so even if the product is really good, there is always a possibility that you can find bad review about it.

Combining of both tactics mentioned above will bring you to "win-win" product.

3. How often you will receive your payment.

Different websites have different interval between each payment. You can get your cheque every week, two weeks or month. Also, good thing is to find out what amount of commission you need to rich to get you payment. Some of the websites have a fixed amount you need to rich to get your payment. In the other hand, others paying you after each sale of this or that product.

Try to stick to those which you think will compensate you effort and investment on time.

4. Now personally the owner who is running a web site.

Personalization is one of the best thing in any kind of marketing. It would be great to contact the owner of the website before promoting his or her product. Hence, you can build long lasting relationships of trust and respect. And in future, if your business partner will create a new product in the same niche market, you can be the first who will now about it, which means more sales for you.

5. Does the website provide affiliates with free content for promotion?

This is a great question to ask any product owner you are going to promote. Especially, if you are just starting your affiliate business this question is going to save your time.

Try to use any help in your business, even if wouldn't like the content, you can always redo it yourself, add something, make it more unique and interesting for your subscribers to read.

Many affiliates missing this technique, so you will outstand out of many just by using the technique mentioned above.

At the end of the day, remember, those small but very effective tactics are going to save hours of your time.

Affiliate Referral Tips

So you’ve got yourself signed up for a new two-tier affiliate program and are excited to start promoting the program to increase your earnings. You’ve done some work to promote the program you are referring people to but are ready to try some more tactics. Here are some more ideas you should consider when trying to generate affiliate referrals:

Dig deeper and they will follow.
The folks you are trying to sell on the affiliate plan aren’t dumb or naïve, they’re serious internet marketers (at least we hope they are, you’re banking on them being able to sell!). Take the time, make the commitment – do your research, write an in-depth post with more information than a reader is liable to get anywhere else, and you will get more incoming traffic, better search engine rankings for your keywords, and, this is the goal, more referrals. Why should your readers try the program you’re referring them to if they don’t think you know what you’re doing? They don’t want to waste their time after all. So get serious---the best way to build the trust you need to generate referrals is to be obviously masterful in your knowledge.

Trackbacks are not backtracking . . . they’re the way forwards.
When you reference other people’s work on your subject it does a few things. For one, a trackback will generate a link to your post beneath the original work you are referencing. This is very handy because someone reading the original article may be searching for more information about it and since you’re providing more information . . . you get the idea. Secondly, by referencing others’ work you’re showing that you’re not a plagiarist (ie you’re an honest dealer) and also lets people see what kind of original ideas you have. If these are good, you’ll build trust and confidence and . . . you guessed it, referrals.

Build links in your community.
A service like Google Alerts can let you set up a notification whenever a blogger writes a post on the topic you’re interested in. When you get an alert, you can read the post and post a relevant comment along with a link to your post. But don’t spam by simply promoting yourself, contribute the discussion of the original post. You should, after all, have something to contribute here after your own research and writing. Include pertinent, useful information in your comment and then reference your link for people to access more information if they’re interested. This is both polite and good for business--- no one’s going to click on your context-less link unless you let them know why they should.

Affiliate Programs-What's Best?

I was asked a simple question. Are Affiliate Programs a Scam? And the answer can be a -- Yes or No. On the Internet, you always have to do your due diligence on anything. If you slack off, or become to trusting-taking things at face value, you may get burned.

There are always warning signs, if it is not legitimate. For example, contact information is bogus-you call no answer, you email-no answer; or if you're in the program, you're getting a lot of chargebacks-a major red flag.

However, most affiliate programs are legitimate, honest programs. But...you do need to look at the affiliate program and know what they do offer the affiliate, and what they don't offer the affiliate.

More On Affiliate Programs

More On Affiliate Programs

By Vickie J Scanlon

How do you choose an affiliate program? Simple question, but is the answer that simple? Yes and no. Let me explain.

First things first - If you are just starting out with a new website or blog, do not be surprised that sometimes the affiliate program you are asking to join will say – no. This, I must remind you, is only a temporary setback. And yes, it won’t be the last time you will see this happen. Even after you are established, you may find the “I regret” message occasionally hit your email. You have to say, “That’s okay”, and move on.

Learning By Doing

There are a lot of lessons to be learned, and yes, trial and error on your part is necessary-to find out what works and what does not work. So to begin, let me say....

The most important lesson that I learned is to select a product or service that compliments your niche or theme. Trust me, if it doesn’t fit your niche or blend well with your other products you won’t see the sales you expect. In fact, it may confuse your visitors-and cause a quick click away.

Second, to begin your affiliate search, look to affiliate brokerage firms such as: Commission Junction, Linkshare, OneNetworkDirect (software), or Clickbank (software). These affiliate brokerage firms give you many choices to choose from to get your affiliate business jumpstarted. Granted, the companies that you choose to go with, may still stay no-but the choices are many.

Third, do not restrict yourself to one product or service. Yes, many will disagree with me, by saying – “no, no just select one or two products and advertise like crazy.” When I first began, I thought –okay that sounds good. But…I ask you this: What happens if the product or service you relied on decides to fold their affiliate program? It happens. In other words, do not put all your eggs into one basket. I would attempt to build my affiliate programs up to a minimum of five products or service. Why? If one program slides, you still have other programs to rely on for income.

Fourth, do your research. Always research the programs you want to join. Here are several questions to ask yourself: 1) is their customer service good; 2) how new of a company are they. In other words, think like a consumer, as well as, guard your online creditability and integrity to the highest.

To conclude, as your affiliate business or website grows you may be surprised to find that some affiliate managers will be requesting that you join their program. Take the flattery that they offer, but never blindly accept until you have checked them out.

Affiliate Marketing-Things To Know

Affiliate Marketing-Things To Know
By Vickie J. Scanlon

I stumbled into affiliate marketing by way of a scam. I was trying to do the old proverbial, newbie-typing job way of getting on the Internet. Yeah, I got scammed. I was about ready to give up my dream of working online when someone suggested affiliate marketing. That was my beginning-it opened up a whole new world to explore, but along with it a learning curve.
So how do you choose an affiliate program, and how do you safeguard your affiliate business?

Choosing An Affiliate Program

Choosing an affiliate program should be an easy task. Right? No not really, not if you want to keep your creditability intact. So what should you check for in an affiliate program.

1. Check for the percentage payout. Most programs do not offer high payouts, unless it is a software program or ebook. If the percentage payout and the price of the product you are selling are both low-you might want to look for something different. Unless, of course, it’s a good product and it fits your theme.
2. Do your research. Check out their customer service record by Googling on the business. Trust me, on the Internet people are not shy about their discontent.

Why is customer service important? Customer service should be important to an affiliate marketer because it can affect your creditability and sales. When you are thinking about joining an affiliate program of a business that matches your theme, you should look to see how customers are liking the company’s service. That is an easy task to accomplish because there are sites that give ratings with customer comments. And if the company is on top of their game, they will also be monitoring these sites, to respond when necessary to the customer’s comments.

If you do see a company responding to the customer to resolve an issue, you know the company is making an effort to work with the customer’s complaint.

3. Even when you use Affiliate Brokerage Firms – you need to do your research on the companies that you want to promote on your site.

Indicators When Companies Decide to Close Their Affiliate Program

Yes, companies may decide to close their affiliate program because of loss profitability. When a company decides not to continue an affiliate program, it is usually a business courtesy if they let the affiliate know that they are discontinuing their affiliate program at such and such date. I’ve had this happen once, which I greatly appreciated. However, there were others that did not do so.

So how do you identify the company that is going to close their doors to their affiliate program? Here are some indicators:
1) There links are not maintained; 2) They no longer send you updates if they were regularly doing so in the past; 3) You get no answers to your emails. 4) Your links suddenly begin erroring out. 5) Payment stops.

Using Affiliate Brokerage Company To Save Guard Your Business

I have found that using an affiliate brokerage firm can help me to protect my revenue in many cases. When a company decides an affiliate program is not profitable they first try to keep the program alive by reducing the percentage payout, then payments begin to dwindle before stopping completely.

With a reputable affiliate brokerage firm, they will notify you if:

1. The company is not paying. The brokerage firm will state that they will no longer be honoring the click through sales on such and such date, and to begin removing your links. Yes, the affiliate brokerage firm will pay you for your sales created before that date.

2. The affiliate brokerage firm will also notify you if the company has not renewed their contract with the affiliate brokerage firm -and to again, begin removing your links because any sales will not be honored. Sometimes you’re surprised with a link that says, “Sorry this affiliate program is not currently active”. When I see this, I take the link off. It’s usually a good indicator that not all is well with the company’s affiliate program.

As you can see, you can make money with affiliate programs, if you take the time to do your research. Try to choose reputable companies that will honor their obligations to you and to your visitors. If you find or sense something is not right with an affiliate program, remove it. Protect yourself and your visitors.
