One of the main differences between the 3G and the 3GS is the faster processor and more memory. One of the first to notice the people that applications load much faster on the 3GS, as shown in this video. Another important point is the 3G/UMTS/HSDPA speed. At least on the O2 network here in the UK, the difference is impressive. Almost twice as fast on average.
