With the holidays fast approaching, children hinting about a new iPhone. As a parent, teacher and aunt, I want the iPhone to be instructive. So I'm keeping my eyes open for new educational iPhone apps. While some may laugh at me, I've always liked to secretly do some training in everything we do.
Before you shoot the messenger, there are a few that like the children and you will probably find themselves borrowing. Check it out:
Educational iPhoneGames
• Word of the Day - Every day you get a new word to share with friends and family. Today's word is harmful. Smoking may have adverse effects. Try it out. It's pretty addictive. Not smoking (the game).
• Google Earth - you do not know where you are? Google Earth is not a fly by. If you're at it, it will do a fly by the house of your friend, the state capital and other places of interest. Everyone wants to see Paris, Texas?
• This Day in History - This app tellsYou what material facts has been done on this day in history.
• Starmap - No budding astronomers, this walk without the app on his iPhone. It's almost like a planetarium in his hand.
• ABC Phonics - This game has cute little animals and learn flash cards for children together, his or her site words. Free games and children go through stages as they advance.
Organizational iPhone Apps
A large part of education is the organization. Youit did not want to believe, but most of the time in high school was teaching children to organize their things. Therefore, I think the iPhone apps organizational, pedagogical applications.
Take this for example:
• Dexy - It allows you to make free-form notes. This way, you can add notes on the go and everywhere they have taken.
• Fast have Voice - For those of us who have a hard time with writing, and especially for students with disabilities to keep a voice is invaluable. I can notto describe how much that helps when a student can quickly say, "Test Friday." The possibilities for these goes beyond the classroom.
• Expense Tracker - Everyone can see the educational value in this app. What student or adult is not possible to give a lesson in the pursuit of the cost? This real life lesson each eye helps keep the real world money.
When it comes to educational iPhone apps, you have to think outside the box and beyond. Your children can imagine, Guitar Hero, and you can imagine, wheelson the bus. However, there is a middle ground. Many games are also educational and fun. Once you go to the iTunes App Store, you will see there is a lot more educational games than you can imagine.
