I’m going to drop a quick Sell High here for you all, then later tonight I’m going to drop a post with some results from my personal spreadsheet analysis that will help you dominate your leagues. But first:
SELL SELL SELL HIGH: Danilo Gallinari – F – NY Knicks
This might just be the easiest sell recommendation that I will ever make, at least in terms of explaining why you should sell him right now. Danilo is a bit of a goofy looking guy on a Knicks determined to work him and his sweet shot into the mix. Hailing from Italy and the sixth overall pick in the 2008 draft, Kicks fans will tell you this is what they expected to get all along. OK nice story.
Fast forward to today and Gallinari has been raining treys down on the NBA like he’s the second coming of Larry Bird. And you know what ballers? He might just be that good. He might keep up this pace for the entire NBA season, this could be his big breakout and he might do this year in and year out for the next decade. So what!
I won’t even get into the numbers, because there is simply no need. There’s only one that stands out, only one that matters and that is Gallinari AVERAGES 3 treys a game. Let me put that into perspective here, Danny Granger is at 3.1 right now (but less games played), while Channing Frye is the next at 2.7 (another sell high), then Mo Williams at 2.5 (a legit three point shooter). OK so now we see that he’s atop the league and why he commands a standard rank in most formats of around 20-25. What else can I tell you?
I can tell you the league leader in 2008 was Rashard Lewis who made 2.8 on average per game, but he also had more attempts per game. I can tell you that in 2007 Peja Stojakovic and Jason Richardson ended the season averaging 3 made per game, and both took more attempts. I can tell you in 2006 Ray Allen averaged 3 per game, but he also averaged many more attempts, and only played 55 games. In fact, in that season, the guy who played 82 games with the highest average was Mike Bibby at 2.1 per game.
What does this all tell you? It tells you that Mr. Gallinari, who indeed might have a wonderful and fruitful career ahead of him, is currently at PEAK VALUE. Unless you expect him to break all sorts of records, the time to deal him off is now. Get FULL VALUE for this puppy, get a player back that ranks somewhere in the 30’s and you’re golden. If you can afford to lose the three’s and need some big man stats, get LaMarcus Aldridge, a perfect swap. Whatever you do, do it quick before the jig is up. Find that team in your league that is desperate for a 3 point shooter and EXPLOIT him!
Finally, while Joel Pryzbilla made me look pretty stupid last night as I posted his excellent half time stats on 4 points 7 rebounds, only to see him finish the game at 4 points 8 rebounds…..there was another player that I HOPE you all were able to score on, Mr. LaMarcus Aldridge! 19 points, 13 rebounds, a steal and TWO BLOCKED SHOTS. If you didn’t snag him on the cheap, pray his owner missed last nights stat line, go get him, and DOMINATE!

Time to Sell High on the Italian Stallion, plus Pryzbilla hates me but LaMarcus doesn't!
