Man I rarely issue a Buy Low for a guy who's going through injury struggles so severely like Redd. But we're at that point in the season where much of the mean reversion has begun and players are in a groove. Let's take a look at the players we've called out and where they're at...
Stephen Jackson - no longer able to buy low
LaMarcus Aldridge - no longer able to buy low
Caron Butler - door is closing fast
Derrick Rose - door is closing fast
Amar'e Stoudemire - door is just about shut
Antawn Jamison - man that door closed fast
Eric Gordon - no longer a buy low
John Salmons - Still a buy low
Did I miss any? As you can see, the opportunities are slimming down quickly. No need to worry, I still have a few tricks up my sleeve.
BUY LOW - MICHAEL REDD - G - MILWAUKEE BUCKS
Prior to the 2008 season, Michael Redd was fantasy gold. He definitely fell into Tier 3, as he was a scoring machine that chipped in plentiful three's. The type of guy you could usually get cheap because he tended to be underrated. Then the injury bug came a knocking and Redd has been a mere shell of his former self, barely being able to stay on the court. After missing significant time early in the season, Redd came back for two games only to hit the IR again on relapse.
Well, as of tonight, Michael Redd is back. His performance was sub par at best and you KNOW his owners are just ready to dump him away. Thus, it's time for the Thief to swoop in. It's all about WHAT we give up to get him that's going to make this trade worthwhile here folks. But before we get too far, let's look at the numbers:
MICHAEL REDD
CAT 2009 Career
PTS 9.8 20.4
REB 2.8 4.1
AST 2.4 2.3
3's 1.0 1.8
STL 1.6 1.0
BLK 0.0 0.0
TO 1.0 1.6
FG% 30.2 45.1
FT% 63.2 84.1
My Lord look at those abysmal numbers. Imagine if you were starting this guy night after night (while healthy) watching him do that to you. You'd be ready to bail. Time to make our move. I'm literally looking for the lowest player on my roster to make this offer. This is worth a Hawes or Watson or Dahntay Jones or Martell Webster type of trade. Redd has looked ugly and has been hurting, we want compensation for taking him on. Once you land the deal, place Mr. Redd right on your bench and trust me, you'll know when it's time to put him in. The payoff could be HUGE here, but let's be sure to limit the downside.
I know, I violated one of the three rules. Here they are:
1> Is he on a new team? NO
2> Is he getting too old? NO, he just turned 30, not that old
3> Was there an injury? YUP, so we gotta play our cards right
Alright ballas, good luck, let me know if you land him in a sweetheart deal.

In ur opinion, is offering Courtney lee for Redd a good trade?
ReplyDeleteI'd pick up Dalembert in this situation

Danny Granger
Trevor Ariza
Gerald Wallace
Pau Gasol
Brook Lopez
Luis Scola
Kevin Love
Bench:
Johnny Flynn
Courtney Lee
Mike Dunleavy
Spencer Hawes
Brendan Haywood (my blocks are generally higher because of him)
Dude offered me aldridge for: scola & kevin love...I think I can still low ball him, he said that he doesnt want lee. What do you think?
I traded Shaq and Hibbert for Redd and Songila, in a 20 team league. Leaving me short at center with Love, Speights
ReplyDeleteI traded for Kevin Martin and Aaron Brooks giving CDR and Beasley. This team is stacked with one 100% owned player - Wade, five +90%, six +80% and Spencer Hawes.
I feel that Kevin Martin is a but low. If you have a winning H2H team he is worth holding for 2 1/2 weeks.
Anony1, Lee is a solid source of steals. If you don't need steals, then he's perfect to deal.
ReplyDeleteBroski, we're close here. Try to get away with someone lower than Love, like hawes or Haywood, but if he isn't interested in them, def pull the trigger here.
On Kevin Martin, I agree he's worth the hold, and if you can find someone to deal him on the cheap to you, then jump on it. I own him myself and wouldn't let him go unless I was getting back a Tier Two player, nuff said.
I give
ReplyDeletePierce/Terry
for
Roy/Salmons...
Good Trade or no??
2 sell highs for 2 buy lows
but is this good?
At the end of the day, I like it. But I think you can squeeze a little more out of Terry and pierce.
ReplyDeleteHey Thief, I was wondering your opinion on something.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of picking up Mareese Speights up and I was wondering who you would drop from my team. I'm in a 12 team, 14 player per team league.. so let me know.

do you think its a god idea?
There's no rush on Speights, be patient. Try working a 2-1 first. Maybe Kidd and a bench player for CP3? Something like that, then u can grab Speights.
ReplyDeleteWhat should I do with Elton Brand? Is he a sell high right now? Will Speights mess up his numbers when he gets back?
ReplyDeletehey its aaron i think i landed an awesome deal last night i already accepted lol but i would like to hear your thoughts.this is my 12 team roto league i traded paul pierce and danilo gallinari and i got danny granger and al jefferson what do u think?
ReplyDeletealso last night in the same league someone dropped kevin love and since i had the number one waiver right i snagged him up and dropped andray blatche. so how was that for moves in one night lol
Aaron, what's up playa, I'm loving those moves for your squad. Big Al dominates Pierce and you gave up very little for Granger. Nice! Love is huge too!
ReplyDeletei was thinking about it earlier u should do a list of most eligible free agents i think that would help alot of guys i mean i know every league is different but i see alot of people wondering this so if u did the top ten free agents u should consider or something just a suggestion. do u like or would this be to difficult?
ReplyDeleteGood idea, I'll work on it. Thanks!
ReplyDeletesup dude..i just did a trade.
