Friday Night Trade Talk

God I love Friday Night basketball, so many games to watch, so much can happen. Anyway, you know the drill here, it's the weekend and I'm around for you to bounce ideas off of, or run your sauce and take a look, or just shoot the shoot. Some of you O G's out there, that got their team advice 2 weeks ago and are riding the wave, haven't heard from ya in a bit so check in and let The Thief know how it's working. Some guys still in transition, haven't INKED the big deal yet, let's work on it, weekends are for Trading! And to any new folk stoppin by, take this site in little by little, it's a lot to handle all at once and each tidbit is worth it. Be sure to read The Sercet Sauce and School Time posts for starters, and work from there. Don't worry, by the end of the night, you're gonna feel a lot better about your fantasy basketball team.

Let's get Saucy!

  1. Whats good thief!

Got shot down for that Rondo for Tony Parker and Vanilla Gorilla trade. Manager still stubborn as ever about losing his assists. While he continues to get stomped 4 out 7 times in all the rebounding cats.

    My sauce(for reference):
    15.62pts
    2.72 asts
    5.98 rebs
    1.08 3pts
    .88 Stls
    .72 Blks

I'm trying to move Frye, Dirk, Aldridge, B. Lopez, and/or Pryzbilla for Rondo.

The guy already has felton, chalmers, and J. Terry for assists. He figures that he has boards covered even though he remains at 6th or 7th in all rebs cats because he has Bosh, Boozer, Bogut, and Gasol.

What would be a mouth watering 2-1 that he couldn't refuse?

Good lookin out again. I'm trying to ink this deal before the weekend is out because the theft would boost my team overall.

    Nice article on Duhon btw!

  2. Sup Thief,

I'm trying to work some deals out for points, treys, and assits (goin for another pg or a good sg/sf i think)

    Secret Sauce:

Have a couple deals floating out there.
Giving al harrington for agent zero, but he hasnt responded in like 4 days now. Al Horford and J ONeal for Blatche and Amar'e. Then im gonna drop Blatche and pick up chandler or sheed.

    My team:
Calderon, CP3, Iggy, Marion, Harrington, Dunleavy, Horford, Redd, Lee, J O'Neal, Haywood, Biedrins, Griffin

Thanks thief (my secret sauce discounts Griffin and uses Biedrins last years stats)

  6. Hey Thief

I have Tyreke Evans, and I am trying to move him for 3s....I offered him for mo williams straight up, but the owner is being balky.

    Team:
    Billups

    Josh Smith
    Ilyasova
    Camby
    Varejao

  7. Gerry! Wassaaaaaap! Can u swing that deal? If so, it's a no brainer!

Renz, yup! Damn that'd be str8 thievin, good luck!

Mike, two ideas, either toss in varajeo or go after Ray Allen or J-Rich or even try for keV Martin.

  8. Hello,

I've got a question for a rather strange league here for you. It is a 12 team head to head league on yahoo with 15 categories, (FGM FTM 3PTM PPTS OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF TECH EJCT FF). Each team rosters 15 players. These are my sauce numbers including bench players

    FGM - 5.21
    FTM - 2.96
    3PTM - 0.74
    PTS - 14.12
    OREB - 1.71
    REB - 6.74
    AST - 2.91
    STL - 0.99
    BLK - 0.75

Right now i'm trying to set up a 2 for 1 deal and then to pick up griffin off of waivers. I'm wanting to target somebody for some blocks and dropping warrick for a 3 point shooter from waivers. A few teams in this league won't bother trading so CP , kevin durant, kevin granett, al jefferson, caron butler, nash, antawn jamison and dwight howard are probably out of the question.

    My roster is
    PG - J. Kidd
    SG - A. Igoudala
    G - Raymond Felton
    G - Wilson Chandler
    SF - Hedo Turkoglu
    PF - Dirk Nowitzki
    C- Marc Gasol
C - Kevin Love ( do you think he's a good sell high?)
    F - Mehmet Okur
    F - Luis Scola
    Util - Kendrick Perkins
    Util - Udonis Haslem
    Bench - Al Thornton
    Bench - Hakim Warrick
    Bench - Jameer Nelson

I have an offer for Mehmet Okur for Emeka Okafor which I'm highly considering for Okafor's blocks.

Do you have any other thoughts?
Oh and I'm in first in this league by 8 games at the moment however its with a bunch of friends so I'm not going to let up.

    Thanks,

    Adam H

  9. or should i go after another three point specialist

    ReplyDelete
  10. Adam, this is a moot point. No way he says no to that offer. Another potential is okur n Thornton for aldridge.

    arenas+cp3=melo+pierce

    ReplyDelete
  14. okay well i will make that deal if I dont include him in a deal for CP3 & arenas

the guy who holds cp3 said he really likes melo so i might just be able to pull of a 1-1 deal.

hopefully I might just be able to "thieve" him.

My sauce including all 13 players in my roster:

    14 Points
    2.9 in assists
    5.8 in rebounds
    0.58 3s
    0.93 steals
    0.82 blocks

  19. Hey thief what are your thoughts on Dampier. my league starts 8 guys with my starters being (including injuries):
    PG: Billups
    SG: Danny Granger
    G: Rondo
    SF: Boozer
    PF: Josh Smith
    F: Joe Johnson
    C: Dwight
    Util: Dampier
    BN: Griffin
    BN: Ben Wallace
    BN: Pryzbilla
    BN: Jarrett Jack
I would love to solidify my Utility spot with an all around good player. Once i get Granger and billups back i think i will be set in most categories. i guess i could use some treys. so a sg or sf would probably be good. I was thinking about pairing dampier and griffin for someone. do you see and better pairs i could make? Do you think i should trade griffin or hold on to him?

  20. In a 12 team 13 roster spot h2h weekly redraft league.
Built my team to be strong in pts, reb, stls, blks

    starters:
    Monta
    Tyreke
    Westbrook
    Jason Thompson
    David West
    Joakim Noah
    Al Jefferson
    Haywood
    Beasley
    Dirk

Bench: Ilyasova, Andrew Bynum, Blake Griffin

    SS numbers:
    FG% = 46.85%
    FT% = 77.2%
    3pt = 0.32
    Pts = 17.23
    Reb = 7.8
    Ast = 3
    Stls = 1
    Blks = 1
    TO = 2.25

Was trying to get rid of Westbrook for a more efficient Guard who's good at assists. I have hardly any guards....

Any comments on the merits of strengthening my strengths and giving up my weaknesses would be appreciated.

Who should I give up to try to swing for Brook Lopez? Who should I target, who should I trade away?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Thanks Aaron!

Yizzie, I say do it. Salmons is going to be good going forward, Shaq barely plays, Hill is being marginalized and Conley has been fairly steady.

H^2, thanks! One quick move is Lee for Salmons, and you need some dimes too so try to move Speights for Duhon too. Those two will solidify the cats you're low in. Give Pau some more time to heat up, then maybe we can deal him for a Nash or Deron.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Eso, Bigs ain't the issue for you! Did you see CP3 tonight, he's all you'd need to sure that up. Maybe think of moving Dirk and Westbrook for CP3 and a big from him (it'd be sweet if he has Okafor or Bogut).

Konner, Granger scares me, that injury tends to linger. You just don't know what he'll be like when he comes back. I would look to move him with Dampier in a deal. Think you could get Wade for them? Keep Griffin, his value will go up. Nothing lost starting Pryz when Dampier is gone.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hey thief just got turned onto your blog through a friend, very insightful. Wish i could show you my SS but i just made a big 4 for 2 trade (Jennings, Sheed, Beasley, Haywood for Billups and Dwight) so its not what it use to be. what are your thoughts on Dampier? im in a 13 team H2H league. my league starts 8 guys with my starters being (including injuries):

    ReplyDelete
  24. I would love to have CP3, but there's no way the person who has CP3 will trade him. Which is why I've just punted assists (and 3PT for that matter), and decided to become unbeatable on enough categories to win on a weekly basis.

I was thinking of trading away westbrook and dwest for luol deng and nene (both of whom are on your sell high list!)

Do you really think it's worth it to try to strengthen my assists? I just don't think I can win on assists, short of acquiring CP3, which is not going to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Eso, I hear you, but then why have Dirk? A lot of his value is his treys which you dont care about. In my experience those strategies of punting cats never work the way you want em to. BUT if you're gonna do it, I'd try to move Dirk still, but get something like D Howard and another back, or Garnett or Duncan ya know.

  29. Hey Thief,

I need your help big time! My team is getting a little weak these days...getting crushed for the second straight week and I think changes need to be made!

I'm in a 14 team H2H league with the standard 9 categories. I was on vacation for 2 weeks and now the FA pool is wearing thin.

    My weak sauce:
    3's: 0.9
    Pts: 13.1
    Rebs: 5.1
    Asst: 3.2
    St: 0.8
    Blks: 0.6

    My Team:
    Steve Nash
    Ben Gordon
    Grant Hill
    Lamar Odom
    Chris Bosh
    Troy Murphy
    Brendan Haywood
    Andre Miller
    Chris Douglas-Roberts
    Jamal Crawford
    Jason Williams
    Donte Greene
    Maurice Evans

Would be great to hear from ya man!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ar, Yeesh, alright, couple things here. You need to do a 1-2 trade, you need depth. Let's try to cash in Nash for 2 guys. Maybe target the owner of Jameer Nelson (back from injury) and see if you can get Caron Butler with him or LaMarcus Aldridge, something around there. Also, Jayson williams has no value anymore, toss him in the nash deal if you can. Let me know the top 5 on your WW too.

    ReplyDelete
  31. hey! how do u think Tim Duncan'sFG% and FT%
    Is it a little freak?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Scola, I hear ya, but I looked into it a bit further and he's had full seasons shooting %'s like this in the past. In 99 and 02 he shot 79% from the line. Still the 55% FG is def due to fall down to 50%, no doubt there. So to answer your question, the FT doesn't concern me but the FG does.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Just sent off the trade request to the owner of Duhon. Speights is playing really well, so I highlighted that fact. Hopefully he could use the rebounds. I picked up Speights after his first game back because I felt he was the best FA and had the most attractive upside trade potential once he started performing. Which he is already doing...

I took your advise on Courtney for Salmons previously...i read your blog a couple days ago on that tip...but the owner wont budge...Salmons is kind performing now, I really did want to catch him during his slump.

What else should I be doing?

    ReplyDelete
  34. 12 team H2H: FGM,FG%,FTM,FT%,3PM,3P%,PTS,OREB,DREB,REB,AST,STL,BLK,TO,A/T

i have a trade waiting to be accepted that the other owner said he liked before i even offered it..

I Get: D Howard and Andre Miller(i out him in a conselation

I Give: Russell Westbrook and Al Harrington

    My team now:
    Billups
    Wade
    Westbrook
    Nelson
    Redd
    Thompson
    D West
    Harrington
    Bargnani
    Przybilla
    Dampier
    Biedrins

then next i was going to drop either Dampier or Pryzbilla for Lou Williams, but im not sure who will produce more.. After this trade i would assume i need to preserve my scoring so i was leaning towards dropping Przybilla.. What do you think about everything????

    ReplyDelete
  35. Holla, I love LOVE that deal, great move. I don't think there's much difference between dropping damp or pryz, so no worries there. Lou is worth having too. Don't be afraid to move Redd after a couple hot games, beware the injury risk.

    ReplyDelete
  36. H^2, it's tough, ALL my buy lows have turned it around now. Gilbert dropped 45 tonight, butler had like 20 and 10, like you said Salmons turnin it around and Stephen Jacksons been solid too. Try sliding Charlie V for Nelson too, otherwise I'll work the list tomorrow and see if I can't drum up some new Buy Low players

    ReplyDelete

  38. yea Redd is definitely on the trading block for another OK or solid SG/SF once he flashes some more life.. most likely package Andre Miller and Redd for someone, if they are willing..

  46. Aaron, good lookin out! I've been waitin for just the right moment on Z-Bo, but yeah we signaled a Sell high on Marc Gasol a couple weeks back. You're a full on thief here plata!

Holla, def no need to rush. Even if they knew, they'll struggle with droppin someone an stall ya know.

LA, if I had TMac, I'm holdin an waitin for the first 20+ point game, then shoppin him HARD to everyone. Some fish will bite.

AR, perfect! Start by offerin him Nash, CDR, n Williams for Vince, Nelson n Okafor, see if he bites! Good luck, keep me in the loop!

Carlo, I wouldnt. You're solid as is.

    Mike, who doesn't?

Luke, two suggestions for you. Try to move Evans for J Rich and Durant for Wade. These two would round you off nicely. Good team tho bro, nice job.

    IR: T. Thomas

    Q. I am a bit under in 3's. Should I go after Kevin Martin (currently IR, difficult owner to trade with? If so, what would be a good offer. I like my balance, but would not mind to add an additional scorer / 3's specialist as Kev Mart.

Love the blog man! Really great

  49. WB, Dirk will be fine, he might miss a game. Landry will probably have to wear a mask now, which could definitely impact his value. I do like Kevin Love, problem is he's been great lately so I wouldn't pay the price to get him. Right now, it'd probably cost you a Tier 3 player, and that's way too much.

Gerardo, happy saturday to ya! Your team looks GOOD man. I don't think you need treys with that squad, I see the sauce but with those five shooters you should be all set? If anything, I'd rather see you try to move Bogut in a trade up. Maybe package him with JoHo or Okur and bring back an Al Jefferson. However you can try for a 3 point shooting big like Jamison too (or Bargnani) if you want to shore that up. Good luck!

  50. ok i just got offer this trade in my keeper league.. 20 teams remember
he wanted my brandon roy and omri casspi

i counter at asked for marion rose and dunleavy and i gave up omri roy and Oleksiy Pecherov

  51. You're basically dealing Roy for Rose n Marion. I'm not big on Marion, so I'd avoid this deal. Roy is awesome and tends to do better asthe year goes on.

  52. Hey Thief.

The Butler for Deng deal didn't go through. CB's performance last night didn't help. Lol. That said the owner has tossed around the idea of trading me his D.WIll and Butler for my Iguodala and Brandon Roy. What are your thoughts on that one?

This is my Roster. I'm playing in a 9 team roto league with 9 standard CATS.

    Rondo
    Wade
    Roy
    Iguodala
    Nowitzki
    Garnett
    Lopez
    Brand
    Salmons
    Deng

    Bench: Gordon, Lou Williams, Dunleavy

    Sauce for starting 10 = (Pts-18.53) (3pts-.63) (Reb-6.49) (Ast-3.86) (St-1.36) (Blk-.94)

Side note: The new layout is nice but I really liked the white background before. It was so clean and professional looking. Not that this one isn't I just preferred the other one. Sorry to sound like a critic. I will continue to visit your site no matter what background you choose. Lol.

  53. Sorry to post again but I'm thinking of making it a 3-3 deal with me including my Deng for his Ray Allen or Mo Will.

Something like his DWill, Butler & Allen or Mo.Will for my Roy, Iguodala & Deng.

  54. RW, thanks for the feedback! I really welcome it so keep it up. I love both your 2-2 and 3-3 ideas. DWill dominates Roy, and butler is coming alive. Plus Ray Ray or mo r great for treys (I'd go for Mo first).

  55. Hey Thief, as for dealing out Nash for Jameer, he has counter-offered.

Now he wants Nash, Odom, and CDR for VC, Jermaine O'Neal, and Will Bynum. I'm thinking to change Bynum and get Jameer back in the loop.

    Thanks for helping out bro!
