AT&T has introduced a new USB 3G modem, the USBConnect Lightning which supports the faster 7.2 Mbps HSPA network, according to Electronista.

The USB stick features a hinge design to fit oddly-shaped notebooks and a lit-up faceplate. It continues to support regular 3.6Mbps HSPA as well as legacy GPRS and EDGE.

AT&T intends to charge $100 for the stick with at minimum a $35 monthly data plan; however, they will offer back the $100 in the form of a debit card rebate.

The $35 plan only provides 200MB a month but AT&T offers a $60 plan which provides 5GB of data.
