Uncover personal secrets with Spokeo Social Networks Aggregator

When you enter Spokeo for the first time, you immediately notice the program slogan: “Want to see something juicy? Spokeo searches deep within 48 major social networks to find truly mouth-watering news about friends and coworkers”. While that might be attractive for some visitors, there is definitely not too pretty slogan for me. However, let’s not look too close on the façade, but review what this site can do for you, and how it can enhance your social presence on the Web.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Mashable.com called Spokeo a simplest of the social networks aggregators today. It is useful for the Internet fans, trying to cover all bases in the multi-sites virtual presence and bring all the contacts together under one single “roof”.

What can you use the application for?

Spokeo is a powerful online application that is designed for syndication of information available publicly across the Internet. In other words it is a social aggregator that allows the users to aggregate photos, videos and blogs available on the web. It often happens that the people/friends of the same group use different online services as per their liking and preferences and it is very difficult for them to aggregate themselves at one common place and they keep hovering around looking and searching about what their friends are doing. Spokeo aids users to maintain separate profiles of all friends and it automatically scoops important information from all the contacts (without letting them know that someone is keeping an eye on their activities). Spokeo is an important technique to manage all information of the user under one roof and let him decide what information is to be provided to others and what not. One of the main features of Spokeo is 'recommend', when any person recommends a message or post on the website it will automatically spread through and show on the home pages of everybody in the contact list.

What is the history of the application?

It was started by Harrison Tang and three other Stanford graduates in the year 2006 with a view to provide a helpful interface to the users if they are unable to keep up with their friends.

What are the differences to other applications?

The website is pretty useful and beneficial for users who have large friends base. It keeps tracking all the contacts across 48 social sites and concurrently updates the action. With its features like Recommend and Contact Ingestion, Spokeo has tried its level best to eliminate the deficiencies and fill-up the loopholes of other service across the web.

How does the registration process work?

The user can easily join Spokeo service by just providing the e-mail and passwords of AOL, Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail accounts and in just 5 minutes the user can follow up his/her friends on 48 social networks. And in case a person doesn't have the e-mail he/she has the option to create it at the same place itself. No credit card details are required for registration.

What does it cost to use the application?

Getting registered with Spokeo is free and easy. The site is funded by 'Angel Investors'. Spokeo also provides for advertisements with the concept of 'sponsored insertion' in which the advertiser is allowed to specify the blog that he wants to promote.

Who would you recommend the application to?

Spokeo is a social aggregator and is beneficial for such users who remain wired up on the Internet all day long and have a big bunch of friends across the web. It is likely that they face difficulties in tracking them and updating their actions and activities on numerous sites. So this site can be recommended to the persons who wish to enlarge and maintain their communities across the web.

Control your privacy

Spokeo respects the privacy policies of your social networks. Your content can only be read in Spokeo by the same people allowed to read it in your network.

Android Answers: How to Get Multitouch Browsing on Droid

Verizon's Droid, as we all know by now, does a lot of things (remember the commercials?). One feature conspicuously missing from the handset, however, is multitouch browsing.

Oddly, the phone itself does support multitouch functionality; the European version, the Milestone, even allows for it. No one's really quite sure why the American Droid doesn't -- well, no one who's talking, anyway. Some theories suggest it might have something to do with Apple's multitouch patents, while others hypothesize that multitouch might clash with existing Android 2.0 applications.

Whatever the reason, one thing's for certain: It sure would be nice to pinch and zoom while surfing the mobile Web. Well, my fellow Droid fans, I come bearing good news: Multitouch has arrived. You just have to know where to find it.

Android, Meet Dolphin

Our answer comes in the form of a cool little program called Dolphin Browser. The app, available for free in the Android Market, packs a lot of extra power into your Android browsing experience.

I've been using Dolphin in conjunction with Android's built-in browser for a while now, but it just hadn't quite won me over enough to become my system default. Over the holiday weekend, however, its developer released an updated version that added in the multitouch support -- and, suffice it to say, I'm in.

Dolphin's multitouch function will be familiar to anyone who's used an iPhone: You pinch your fingers together to zoom in, pinch them apart to zoom out. Couldn't be simpler.

Android: Droid Multitouch

More Android Browsing Power

The rest of what Dolphin offers shouldn't be overlooked. Its gesture-command support is, quite frankly, almost as impressive as the multitouch. You set up a series of custom gestures to control everything from navigating forward or backward to opening your bookmarks. Then, anytime you want to perform one of those commands, you just touch the gesture symbol and draw in your lines.

Android: Droid Gestures

Dolphin Browser also supports multiple tabs -- I find them much easier to visualize and manage than the multiple windows in Android's built-in browser -- and some integrated social sharing options.

One quick tip: When you're exiting the app, rather than just hitting your Home button, press and hold the back button for two to three seconds. That'll bring up a menu that allows you to fully stop the process and clear the cache, which seems to help prevent some problems people have reported with the program force-closing upon exit.

You can see more about the Dolphin Browser for Android in this video. Neither the grammar nor the spelling is the greatest -- but forgive that, and I think you'll be pretty impressed.

Michael Arrington Declares the CrunchPad Dead

In a strange twist of events, the CrunchPad tablet ready for its unveiling on November 10th is now dead.

Michael Arrington describes the turn of events and a partnership gone bad...

Bizarrely, we were being notified that we were no longer involved with the project. Our project. Chandra said that based on pressure from his shareholders he had decided to move forward and sell the device directly through Fusion Garage, without our involvement.

Err, what? This is the equivalent of Foxconn, who build the iPhone, notifiying Apple a couple of days before launch that they’d be moving ahead and selling the iPhone directly without any involvement from Apple.

Unfortunately, while the CrunchPad trademark is owned solely by TechCrunch the CrunchPad product intellectual property is jointly owned. This means a long legal battle is on the way.

The Google Phone 'Is a Certainty'

According to a trusted Gizmodo source who's seen it with their own eyes, the Google Phone 'is a certainty'.

Over the next few weeks, Google Phones (most probably in early, prototype form) will flood the Mountain View campus. They'll don large LCDs while running a new version of Android—either Flan or the version of Android beyond it—which our source spotted running on Google's handset as well as a laptop. (Whatever the software was, it most certainly wasn't Chrome OS, we were assured.)

Interestingly the source was told that the current Android, is not the "real" Android.

Qualcomm is talks with Apple for interest in future cooperation due to its concern about market share in the high end handset segment, reports DigiTimes.

Qualcomm is supplying handset chips to Korea-based Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics (LGE) and Taiwan-based High Tech Computer (HTC). However, none of the most popular smartphones – iPhone, Blackberry and Palm Pre –adopt Qualcomm's 3G solutions. On the other hand, Motorola has a tight relationship with Freescale Semiconductor, while Nokia and Sony Ericsson are more likely to give ST-Ericsson priority on their supplier lists, the sources indicated.

Recently it was rumored that Apple will produce a new hybrid phone which will work will all global handset carriers whether UMTS or CDMA. Qualcomm has announced such a chip but its not likely to ship until 2011.

Portable Windows applications

A portable application does not leave its files or settings on the host computer. Typically this means that the application does not write to the Windows registry and instead stores its settings in one or more configuration files (e.g. an INI file) located in its directory. While some applications have options to support this behaviour, many programs are not designed to do this. A common technique for such programs is the use of a launcher program to copy necessary settings and files to the host computer when the application starts and move them back to the application's directory when it closes.

An alternative strategy for achieving application portability within Windows, without requiring application source code changes, is application virtualization: An application is "sequenced" or "packaged" against a runtime layer that transparently intercepts its file system and registry calls, then redirects these to other persistent storage without the application's knowledge. This approach leaves the application itself unchanged, yet portable.

The run-time layer can be embedded into an application on-the-fly by injecting a dynamic library into a third party process to create individual per application wrapper. The wrapper is activated at the application startup and hooks/redirects file- and registry-related system calls to operate with portable (ex: flash) storage space only.

The same approach is used for individual application components: run-time libraries, COM components or ActiveX, not only for the entire application. As a result, when individual components are ported in such manner they are able to be: integrated into original portable applications, repeatedly instantiated (virtually installed) with different configurations/settings on the same operating system (OS) without mutual conflicts. As the ported components do not affect the OS-protected related entities (registry and files), the components will not require administrative privileges for installation and management.

Microsoft saw the need for an application-specific registry for its Windows operating system as far back as 2005. It eventually incorporated some of this technology, using the techniques mentioned above, via its Application Compatibility Database using its Detours code library, into the XP version of Windows. It did not, however, make any of this technology available via one of its system APIs.

Portable software is a class of software that is suitable for use on portable drives such as a USB (thumb) drive or digital audio player or PDA with "drive mode", although any external hard drive can be used. The concept of carrying one's favored applications, utilities, and files on a portable drive for use on any computer is one which has evolved considerably in recent years.
Programs in this category (also known as portable applications) are typically 'lite' versions of their parent software, but there are many exceptions.

To be considered portable, for purpose of this list, a software program must:
Not require any kind of formal installation onto a computer's permanent storage device to be executed, and can be stored on a removable storage device such as USB flash drive, enabling it to be used on multiple computers.

Settings are stored with, and can be carried around with, the software (i.e., they are written to the USB drive). If the registry is used to store settings, the application's configuration isn't portable, and must be set up on every PC it is used on Leaves a zero (or near-zero) "footprint" on any PC it's run on after being used. i.e., All temporary files/registry settings should be removed once the program has exited, and files created by the user can be saved directly to the same removable media as the application is stored on.

Generally, smaller utility/toolkit software is inherently fairly portable; though larger applications are sometimes changed in order to allow a portable versions to be released (e.g., Opera@USB and OperaTor).

Why do so many Folks Fail In affiliate marketing.

Compared to conventional advertising practices, affiliate programs are way more effective, low risk and cost-efficient. On the part of the merchant, he needs to be highly selective in selecting the best associate sites for his affiliate marketing program. The associate sites visitors must match his focused customers. The site is an especially crucial tool in the entire affiliate program.

But some online firms promote that you can earn cash easily on the web.

This isn't a total truth even though it is certain that profitable can be made less complicated thru it. For this, you must select good web business ventures.

Process of affiliate marketing is a bit less complicated as it is selling for other folks. Some users are fussy about what they see at first sight and thus when they find your internet site unsightly, they will not read thru the content even if your internet site has many things to point out and offer. Above all, an affiliate must be willing to learn more. When you enroll in an affiliate marketing program, do not expect to become rich in a second.

Taiwan Plans to Roll out E-readers in Schools

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/06/netronix-e-reader.jpg

Taiwan's Ministry of Education plans to offer e-readers to schoolkids on the island next year as part of efforts to further digitize schools and promote reading.

The e-readers are part of a five-year, NT$50 billion (US$1.55 billion) budget earmarked for information technology in classrooms. Currently the ministry is reviewing designs for e-readers and doesn't yet know how many it will purchase for next year, a representative said.

The only e-reader displayed at the Ministry of Education's booth at the IT Month exhibition in Taipei on Monday was a color e-reader designed by Aiptek International for young children. The Aiptek inColor e-reader has an 8-inch color screen and 1GB of flash memory for storage. It comes with 20 multimedia e-books pre-installed and costs NT$6,900 (US$213) in Taiwan, according to Hsu Fang-chi, a media representative at Aiptek.

The company is planning a touchscreen version of the e-reader. There are already 108 e-books available for the inColor on Aiptek's Web site. The company offers both English and Chinese-language books.

Currently the inColor is on sale in Taiwan and China, but it can be purchased via Aiptek's Web site or through representative offices in Europe and the U.S., said Hsu.

This year, the ministry focused on putting digital chalkboards in math, science and language classrooms in Taiwan schools.

The HaBoard interactive whiteboard has an 82-inch touchscreen so teachers can write on them, make changes to images on the screen, or call up further information, said Ivan Huang, a representative of HaBook Information Technology, the maker of the device.

The classrooms making use of the HaBoard also provide touchscreen monitors to groups of kids in each class, usually one screen for every five or six kids, he said. The purpose of the touchscreen monitors is to make the class more interactive, so kids can look up additional information or answer questions about the subject the teacher is currently reviewing.

Each HaBoard costs NT$50,607 (US$1,565) alone, and other devices designed to work with it are also available. One useful device is the AverVision 300AF, an image-capture device that inputs images onto the HaBoard. It comes with a variety of attachable cameras, including a microscope, so kids can see science projects at the cellular level.

The education ministry's representative said the HaBoard is already installed in schools throughout Taiwan.

Taiwan also has an NT$80 billion budget from a stimulus plan that is meant to battle the global recession and aimed at education. The Intelligent Taiwan budget is aimed at strengthening schools, including by eliminating the gap between rural and urban students as well as the digital divide, the term used to describe differences in learning based on accessibility to computers and the Internet.

TV666 TV Phone - The Perfect Quad Band iPhone Clone For Texting and For Watching Real Time TV

The development of the iPhone clones was something amazing to watch. What started out as a basic copy (the P168) that was added to an FM radio and a couple of extra speakers, developed a series of very different phones that just about every feature under the sun, such as WiFi, GPS, real-time TV and e-book reader.

Moreover, there is a new wave of iPhone clones, which are a SMS has been added to the keyboard and scroll bar on the bottom of the phone. The company is partPeople who have on the flat screen but not the text like this. For some, there is just no substitute for text keys mentioned.

The TV666 includes developing many of these properties. This is a quad-band and although I would probably call it an iPhone clone, because it has all the features packed into a touch interface, it's really not much like the iPhone to search. It has a full key board, scroll bar and a giant screen with a retractable antenna, so you can seeReal-time analog television.

Not to be confused with real-time analog TV with the "TV out" feature, which means that you can set the phone with a large TV and video on mobile phones to connect using a larger screen. The TV666 is have this feature, but it also has the analog version on which you can see, which is currently on the local station in real time.

The TV phone is quad-band, which means that he just work anywhere worldwide with just about any carrier or network. AllYou need to do is insert your SIM card and read the phone and install the necessary information. There are no drivers.

Additionally, this dual-SIM phone, so that you have two phone numbers or plans have a telephone. It allows Web browsing, e-mail and text messaging, MP3 and MP4 functions, and Bluetooth.

The picture of this phone is sharp and clear. The sound is also very sharp, so watching TV or video on this phone is exactly as it should be. The reception is also good, even inthe car. The keyboard is clear and the buttons are firm enough to not make mistakes, but not so tight that the process is slowed.

Price wise, this is a right in the middle - one hundred U.S. dollars in the mid to low range. I think that's pretty good test there is a TV, MP3 and MP4 player and digital camera in a phone on this.

Portable Application

A portable application (portable app) is a computer software program that is able to run independently without the need to install files to the system it is run upon. They are commonly used on a removable storage device such as a CD, USB flash drive, flash card, or floppy disk. Portable apps should not be confused with software portability where software allows its source code to be compiled for different computing platforms. Portable applications can be run on any computer system with which they are compatible but typically require a specific operating system such as Microsoft Windows XP or above, certain version of a Linux distro, etc.

Portable software is typically designed to be able to store its configuration information and data on the storage media containing its program files.

To certain operating systems such as AmigaOS, the concept of portable application has no use at all because all applications are portable by definition. Depending on the operating system, portability is more or less complex to implement.

Some Words on Affiliate Team Building.

as a consequence of this, we must all reach out to our new affiliates and work with them to find success. In the affiliate promotion business, that kind of mind-set is a perilous mistake. If you're the Team Leader, you also earn a little commission on the same purchase. You could be modest, and feel undeserving of this emulation, but you are deserving. When you share your understanding, your affiliates won't only become more active, they are going to become your pals and associates.

This idea of sharing information is infectious. And if you have attempted affiliate internet marketing for any period of time, you quite likely ended up broke or never achieved more than modest, changing success. Like just about everybody else who goes into the field.

to become successful in associate internet promotion, you need to destroy the mythological perspective that most of the people bring to the business. You should stay resolutely grounded in fact if you wish to succeed.

how often have you heard about some tiny old woman that only spends three hours a week on her PC and somehow earns $50,000 a month? And how often have you read an advertisement that tells you how it's possible for you to make $10,000 in a single month from now if you sign up right away? These stories, while they may be true, promote mythological thinking that tricks folks into trying each opportunity that looks good currently, instead of targeting a single opportunity.

These "opportunities" not only hinder you from succeeding, but they have an even nastier byproduct : they push the mythology that you either succeed on the web in fifteen mins or you may never succeed in any way. A lost message can simply cost a sale, and it's the same with your affiliates . My Team Leader was intensely generous with his understanding and experience, and taught me the simplest way to build a site, the easy way to exchange links, how to make public an article and a pile of other items that I had no knowledge of when I started. I mostly hated the "I've got a secret" mind-set that I ran into in the business world. Since his retirement, he has operated many prosperous businesses.

Apple testing next generation iPhone

http://www.any-video-converter.com/ipod-video-converter/image/iphone.jpg
Arguably the most popular mobile device on the planet; Apple's next generation of iPhone is rumoured to already be under development.

According to the Apple rumour site, MacRumors.com, Apple have begun field testing their new version of the iPhone. According to the site, iPhone developer Pandav informed MacRumors that they have spotted usage records for an unreleased iPhone in their application analytics's. The application which revealed the possibly updated model was an iPhone application named iBART - a public transportation guide for the San Francisco train system.

PinchMedia who provides the analytics for the application in question breaks down customer usage including what specific devices are being used to display the application.

This list of devices is reported to developers using internal device identification numbers assigned by Apple. In this case, "iPhone3,1" was first spotted in Pandav's usage logs in November. This version number - "iPhone3,1" as a device identifier does not match up with any models of the iPhone being currently shipped to service providers and customers. The last iPhone released to the public was the iPhone 3GS which carries the identification string "iPhone2,1".

According to MacRumors, References to version "iPhone3,1" were first discovered in the iPhone firmware files back in August, but this seems to be the first time that it has been spotted "in the wild".

Similarly, Apple began testing the iPhone 3GS (iPhone2,1) back in October of 2008 about 8 months ahead of its launch. At the time, the usage was similarly focused in the San Francisco Bay Area where Apple is located.

There have very few details as to what the next generation iPhone might include, in terms of features. Although early rumours have suggested a multi-core processor that may enhance performance significantly. There have also been rumours of Verizon compatibility as early as mid 2010.

Mac Pro to Get Intel Golftown Processor in Early 2010?

http://www.blalockvideo.com/blog/pictures/macpro.jpg

Apple may be looking to open up the speed gap between the iMac and Mac Pro once again with the Gulftown processor, according to HardMac.

Gulftown is the codename of a future six-core Intel processor using the Intel Nehalem microarchitecture in the 32 nm "Westmere" shrink. It will be the first processor to be sold as Intel Core i9. [W]

According to our sources, this CPU will be installed in the future Mac Pro revision expected early 2010, in order to create a new gap between the iMac Core i7 and the Mac Pro models. This future Mac Pro will then offer 12 physical and 24 logical cores, more than enough power for heavy task, the bottleneck now being the way application are coded to benefit from such raw power.

At equivalent clock speed, it is 50% faster than the corresponding quad core Xeon for parallel tasks, drains 50% less power in idle mode, and drains 10% less in full loading mode.

Eleven Tips for Joining affiliate marketing programmes.

If somebody is offering you ten percent commission, and they're keeping the rest, then you must ask yourself "Should I actually be in this associate program?". An affiliate marketing program I have latterly joined called 'E-Book Marketing Explained', pays out 45% commission to their affiliates and another 10% to the second tier.

They only keep 45% and it's from this that they take their costs. By paying such high affiliate marketing program commissions they're enticing many affiliates to their programs. With a higher volume of sales they can afford to give away such a high commission. These are some things that I look for before joining an affiliate marketing programme. The affiliate marketing programme has a great payment structure. For me, a high commission that's also a high proportion of the purchase price is critical. Here's tons more stuff about affiliate promotion. You don't wish to be sending visitors to a site that you don't like yourself. You don't desire to discover today about a sale you definitely made a week gone. If you are tossing up between two programs and one pays monthly and the other pays quarterly, the one that pays monthly is better. See whether the affiliate marketing program gives examples showing how the top affiliates are doing. Along these lines, also see whether they give examples of what marketing techniques these successful associates are using to get the most impressive results. It's good to see you made another sale' in your mail box. If they can't answer your question right away confirm they can reply inside forty eight hours. There's amazing requirement for affiliate marketing programmes and choosing the proper one is no straightforward task. Ensure you do lots of analysis before joining one.

Set yourself the standard of nothing but twenty p.c. and ensure that the twenty percent is more than simply two bucks. It is with the big-percentage payers where you can make some decent commissions.
